Greenheck - Residential Ventilation Fan Test
Переглядів 96Місяць тому
Residential-grade ventilation fans are often only tested and certified at low static pressure levels. This means that they may not perform well in real-world installations. Greenheck fans, on the other hand, are tested and certified across their entire performance curve. This ensures that they will meet code requirements and effectively move air in a typical residential installation.

    All manufacturer families are over-complicated junk and yours are the worst. Any Revit designer who knows what he's doing will opt to use his own homemade families that are 1/10 as complicated and actually work with his schedules and tags.

    Hmm... if both spin at the same RPM does that necessarily mean they're moving the same amount of air? I don't doubt that the ECM fan is more efficient but the analysis seems dubious

    frankly there is a some things about this test that is wrong, including putting plates over the damper to contain the heat. This to ensure the fusible link operates before the damper seizes. I wonder if they supply clients with plates with every damper that can be used in the event of a fire? Also the damper is tested outside of the furnace and not inside which means the casing is not subjected to the heat. Much improvements required.

    Operating pressure range is 0.2 in. wg to 2 in. wg . If the pressure is below the minimum, it will likely operate so long as the air flow through the duct is higher than the selected set point. It may fall outside of the +/-10% range.

  • @GreenheckHVAC
    @GreenheckHVAC 4 роки тому

    A mixed flow fan uses an engineered curved and angle blade design to achieve lower sound and brake horsepower performance. Air is directed through a tubular housing in an improved axial angle. Mixed flow fans also include straightening vanes downstream of the wheel to reduce the airflow swirling, turning it into a more useful axial flow.

    Nice product! What is the operating pressure range? What if the pressure is below the min. value? Does it operate?

  • @bashkillszombies

    Also one other thing you left out - why would I opt for a damper instead of a blast valve? A damper mitigates some damage, a blast valve stops the damage entirely, and a pressure capable ducting system pre blast valve means zero duct damage and perfect operability post-incident. So one system seems to knock you down for a few days and does mitigated damage, the other means no down time and no damage. What's the point in a damper?

    • @GreenheckHVAC
      @GreenheckHVAC 4 роки тому

      Designers have many options when it comes to blast protection. There are many different facets to be considered when selecting the best option, including the size of the potential blast, the likelihood of the blast, the initial cost of the protection, cost of downtime, the type or location of the building that needs protected, the anticipated distance from the blast to the area needing protection, etc. When weighing all of those options, some solutions will inevitably be more cost effective than others and some solutions will be more protective than others. It's the designers and owners responsibility to weigh those options against the risks associated with them.

    What 'third party independent test lab'? I'm always suspicious when the name of a testing facility isn't mentioned, it usually makes me presume it's one of those dodgy Chinese companies.

    You are correct that the traditional two-sided retaining angle installation requires the angles to be fastened only to the damper, and not to the wall. However, the time saving installation on the left side of this video is depicting a single side retaining angle installation, where the angle is only being installed on one side of the barrier. In this case, it is required that the angle be attached to both the damper and the wall. Please visit our website at www.greenheck.com for more information on additional UL approved installation methods.”

    I applied for a job with Greenheck. I was sent to take a screening test which I was told I needed 80% to pass. We were given 2 hours to complete it. I made a score of 96%, completing it in 50mins, went in for an interview a week later, it went well, I was told I would be contacted by HR to take a physical/drug test by the end of the week. This was on a Tuesday, and come Friday, I was never contacted. So I called to find out why HR hadn't got back with me as promised, and the HR woman only complained that she didn't have any help to do her job, and that is why I wasn't contacted, then I received an e-mail stating I am no longer being considered. I'm glad I wasn't hired, because if this is how you treat people before they are hired, I can only imagine how bad it must be after they are.

    If a drum full of sand landed on the duct while it was on a building, chances are it's gonna write off the rest of the roof regardless of wether the damper still works or not

    • @mibars

      +Machine Man This is to prove that damper will not be damaged in case of eg. part of roof or some support beam falling on top of the duct during fire so that it will continue to isolate rest of the building.
